Are you a cancer survivor looking for a new adventure and an opportunity to discover your full potential? — Then join fellow survivors with the Team Survivor Sea Dragons!

We practice every Sunday morning and Tuesday evening.

You must:

  • be a female cancer survivor.

  • have completed all treatment and healed all wounds.

  • consult with your physician.

  • email info@teamsurvivorsd.org and tell us a little about yourself.  We'll get you started from there!

You’ll have fun, meet new friends, and rediscover what’s possible after cancer. Our Sea Dragons are more than a paddling team—we’re a supportive community on and off the water, proving that an active life after cancer is possible.

We welcome all female cancer survivors who want to paddle with us. There are no age limits, and no previous dragon boating or sports experience is required—most of our teammates had never paddled before joining.

Team Survivor Sea Dragons is a nonprofit run by cancer survivors for cancer survivors, so we truly understand what you’re going through.

Practices are held at:
Youth Aquatic Facility
1750 Fiesta Island Rd.
San Diego, CA
(just off Highway 5 on the east end of Mission Bay)

10-man and 20-man dragon boats are on the beach beside the only paved parking lot on Fiesta Island.

Note: Because our sport is a sprint race sport with participants sitting very close together, we strongly recommend a COVID-19 vaccination but don't require it.

We practice every Sunday unless there are events scheduled on Fiesta Island that might require an early start time.

We’ll guarantee you’ll have fun and meet new friends as you rediscover the possibilities of your life. If you’re feeling down, we’ll lift you up because our Sea Dragons (the paddling team) are about more than dragon boating. We’re a  support group on and off the water and a vivid demonstration that you can have an active life after cancer.

We welcome all female cancer survivors who want to paddle with our organization; we have no age restriction and you do not need to have any previous experience with dragon boating or any other sport.  Most of our teammates never paddled anything before joining us!
